The San Francisco 49ers are gearing up for a crucial primetime showdown against the Seattle Seahawks, with the regular season finale set to take place at Levi's® Stadium on Saturday night. With the game's outcome carrying significant postseason implications, the team has released its final injury report following Thursday's practice, shedding light on the availability of key players.
Among the players listed as questionable are tight end George Kittle and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, both of whom participated in practice but with limited capacity. Head coach Kyle Shanahan emphasized the importance of having his top players available, particularly against a formidable defense like the Seahawks.
"Kittle is a great player, and we're up against a great defense and team," Shanahan stated. "So, having everyone who can contribute is crucial."
Cornerback Upton Stout, who was a full participant in Thursday's practice, remains in the league's concussion protocol, while defensive lineman Keion White returned to practice with limited capacity after missing the first two practices of the week. Meanwhile, veteran tackle Trent Williams, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, did not practice this week but has shown progress.
"Trent has made good progress, and if the doctors give the go-ahead and he believes he can handle it, we'll definitely have him ready," Shanahan assured.
Running back Christian McCaffrey and full back Kyle Juszczyk were also limited participants on Wednesday but returned to full participation on Thursday. Shanahan attributed this cautious approach to the demanding workload of back-to-back short weeks of preparation.
"We monitored the entire team, especially considering the three games in 13 days schedule," Shanahan explained.
Cornerback Renardo Green, who has been managing a neck injury, was a full participant throughout the week and is not designated for the game.
The complete Week 18 Game Status Report is as follows:
- TE George Kittle (ankle) - Questionable
- WR Ricky Pearsall (knee, ankle) - Questionable
- CB Upton Stout (concussion) - Questionable
- DL Keion White (groin) - Questionable
- T Trent Williams (hamstring) - Questionable
The 49ers will continue to monitor the players listed on the injury report, with final decisions on game-day availability to be announced 90 minutes before kickoff in Santa Clara.
